Pack of Lies by Hugh Whitemore
Spies in sleepy suburbia? Who's telling the truth?
Proscenium presents this captivating play about Russian spies in semi-detached Ruislip, where conversations take place behind net curtains and no-one knows who's lying to them.
Bob and Barbara Jackson, and their daughter Julie, are great friends with their neighbours, the Krogers. All is well until a persuasive Scotland Yard detective asks to use the Jackson's house as an observation post, hoping to unearth a couple of Soviet spies operating in the area. Hugh Whitemore's intriguing drama, based on the real life Portland Spy Ring case of the early 1960s, asks searching questions about trust and betrayal.
