The Otago Strength and Balance programme is designed specifically to prevent falls.  The programme consists of:

  • a set of muscle strengthening and balance retraining exercises
  • exercises that are individually prescribed and increase in difficulty
  • standing exercises, so it is important that the participant can sit to stand unaided and walk with or without a walking aid.

To find out more about your own risk of falling and what you can do to help prevent falls, visit our falls prevention web page.
