Image representing Repair and Reuse Day

Explore a fantastic range of stalls, learn about reusing mobility aids, get practical energy‑saving tips, and more.

Drop off unwanted textiles, small electricals that are beyond repair and we will recycle them.

You can also enjoy complimentary refreshments while taking part in our quiz and children's treasure hunt.

Reduce. Reuse. Repair. Recycle. Repeat.

TRAID: Repair Cafe

Our textiles partner, TRAID, will be collecting textiles on the day for anyone wanting to donate or recycle unwanted items.

They will also be holding a free community workshop where you can learn how to mend your damaged clothes.

Please note: Booking details will be added soon.

Friends of the Earth: Repair/Restart Party

Friends of the Earth Hillingdon is a climate action group. They run restart parties / repair cafes, which aim to reduce electrical waste by encouraging repairs.

Bring along 1 small broken (or slow) electrical item and Friends of the Earth will try to help you fix it for free. The repair volunteer experts will show you the process for finding the issue and hopefully repairing your item. Any items that cannot be repaired can be placed in the pink bin for recycling.

Book onto the Repair/Restart Party

Dr Bike

Get a free basic bike repair. We will check your bike, give you advice, make minor adjustments and fit some basic replacement parts if we have them.

There's no need to book; just come along on the day.

Refill Your Cup - Zero Waste Refill Shop

Speak with Laura and Natalie, owners of Hillingdon's first zero-waste grocery store in Ruislip, where you can buy groceries by weight to eliminate packaging waste.

Their mission is to enable the local community to reduce waste, have a positive impact on the environment, and improve their wellbeing by making changes to their buying habits.

Mobility Aids Reuse - Pass it on campaign

Speak with Jayne Bullock, Assistant Falls Practitioner at Harefield Hospital, about her amazing work in reusing mobility aids that are donated at Harefield Civic Amenity Site.

Walking aids, such as walking sticks, frames, rollators and crutches, can be safely refurbished and reused repeatedly. So, if you have unwanted mobility aids at home, please bring them on the day and Jayne will reuse them.

Climate change information

Speak with Bill Upchurch about how to DIY stop mould and reduce heat loss through solid wall buildings using wall thermal liner. Bill can also advise on how to make savings on your heating costs and he is very knowledgeable regarding waste and recycling systems.

Freegle

Visit our Freegle stall to discover how you can pass on items you no longer need and find things others are giving away for free. Freegle encourages sharing within the community to keep useful items in circulation and out of the waste stream. It's a simple, planet‑friendly way to reduce waste and help others at the same time.

Adopt a Teddy stall

At our Adopt a Teddy stall, families can choose a pre-loved soft toy to take home and treasure. All teddies have been kindly donated by Hillingdon residents, and by giving them a new home, we're helping to keep these cuddly companions in use for longer and reduce waste.

From one home to another - Book Reuse stall

At our Book Reuse stall, families can browse a selection of donated books looking for their next home. By choosing a pre‑loved read, you'll be supporting reuse in the community and helping us stop perfectly good books from going to waste.

Recycling team

Our recycling team will be on hand to answer any recycling questions you may have and provide information on how to recycle in the borough.

There's no need to book; just come along on the day.
