The Otago Strength and Balance programme is designed specifically to prevent falls.  The programme consists of:

  • a set of muscle strengthening and balance retraining exercises
  • exercises that are individually prescribed and increase in difficulty
  • standing exercises, so it is important that the participant can sit to stand unaided and walk with or without a walking aid.

The sessions are free with a minimum 12 weeks attendence and a possible option to extend at the end of the programme.

To book your place on one of these sessions please contact Sarah Durner on 01895 277137 or email sdurner@hillingdon.gov.uk.

There will be no strength and balance exercise programme sessions during the summer holiday period (Monday 14 August to Friday 1 September).

To find out more about your own risk of falling and what you can do to help prevent falls, visit our Falls prevention web page.
